A recent Public Interest Litigation (PIL) before the Delhi High Court seeks the constitution of an expert committee to examine engagement-maximising features used by social media platforms, including infinite scroll and autoplay, and recommend appropriate safeguards.
The Court has also sought the Centre’s response on whether it is considering a policy framework to regulate such features.
